Sometimes, the greatest influences on a business leader can come from a seemingly unrelated part of life.
That’s why we asked a panel of Young Entrepreneur Council members who or what they consider to be their biggest non-business-focused inspirations. Here are the extraordinary people and ideas that have inspired these business leaders, and why they’ve had such an impact on their work.
3. A Fellow Gym Member
One of the first people to inspire me was an older gentleman, Ed, who I met at the gym. We had the same trainer. I must have mentioned to him one day that I felt stuck in my current career and life. He gave me a book, Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. It’s about having a growth mindset and putting your intentions down on paper. It’s the first time I sincerely thought about my future, wealth and how to get there. I put that paper with my goals right in front of my desk so I see it every morning. I’ve accomplished a lot and some things I didn’t even imagine. – Reb Risty, REBL Marketing
